Fees $5 monthly service fee unless you meet certain requirements

Although it can’t compete with the best savings accounts in the industry, the Regular Savings account by Emprise Bank offers some decent perks and easy access to your money. For instance, you get to make unlimited withdrawals at any Emprise ATM even though federal regulations limit most savings withdrawals to six per month.

And as with all of Emprise Bank’s savings accounts, you get the following features free of charge:

  • Mobile Banking
  • Online Banking
  • Online Bill Pay
  • Mobile Deposit
  • ATM Deposits

Furthermore, all of the bank’s savings accounts offer free access to People Pay. Similar to services like Venmo, this app allows you to pay other users without having to ask for their banking information. All you need is a name and either a mobile number or email address.

  • 3 Year: 3.75% APY
  • 4 Year: 3.50% APY
  • 5 Year: 3.50% APY

Through Emprise Bank, you can open a certificate of deposit (CD) for terms ranging from three months to five years. Overall, Emprise Bank offers some generous rates on its CDs compared to those offered by similarly sized institutions.

In addition, the bank can either compound the interest you earn or automatically transfer it to you. This perk lets you take a sliver of your earnings before your term ends should you need it. In fact, the bank offers so many options you might benefit if you use a CD ladder to build an emergency fund. This occurs when you open several CDs with different term lengths. The strategy gives you access to interest and principal at different intervals so you can keep your savings steadily growing.

But keep in mind that the deposit for each CD must be locked in until the term ends, commonly known as the point of maturity. Afterward, the CD would automatically renew for the same term and current interest rate unless you instruct the bank otherwise.

In addition, each CD offers the following free benefits.

  • Online Banking
  • eStatements
  • Mobile Banking

But if you’re still interested in exploring other options, you can examine the best CD rates we’ve uncovered.

  • $50,000 - $99,999: 2.60% APY

Even though Emprise Bank doesn’t offer the best-tiered interest rates with its money market account, the firm does give you great liquidity. For example, you can make unlimited withdrawals from this account via Emprise ATMs. You also get the free features that come with the bank’s savings accounts including mobile deposit.

The $10 monthly service fee can add up over time. However, you can waive it by keeping an average daily balance of $2,500.

Still, you can compare money market accounts across the banking industry to see if you find better terms and features.

Emprise Bank offers a traditional individual retirement account (IRA) and a Roth IRA. By contributing toward a traditional IRA, your earnings grow tax-free until you make qualified withdrawals when you’re at least age 59.5. So this option may make sense if you expect to be in a lower tax bracket during retirement. Your contributions may also be tax-deductible.

With a Roth IRA, your qualified withdrawals are tax-free.

Rates for most of your IRA and Roth IRA options are fixed at Emprise Bank. But you can also open a variable interest rate option for an 18-month term. This option also allows you to make additional contributions of at least $100 during its term.

But any time you’re thinking about planning for retirement, you should seek a tax advisor and find a financial advisor to work with.
