|Rank||City||Airline Mile Value||Percentage of Employment in Leisure & Hospitality||Recreation Centers per 1,000 Residents|
Methodology Our study aims to find the best places to travel using airline miles or travel reward points. To do so we looked three factors.
First, we analyzed where a traveler gets the best value by using miles or points to book a flight versus paying in cash, as represented by the Airline Mile Value Index. Next, we looked at two factors to measure the best places to travel to. We considered the percentage of employment in the Leisure and Hospitality industry, as a proxy for prominent it is in the local economy, as well as Recreational Centers per 1,000 residents. We weighted the Airline Mile Value Index by 2/3 and each of the Leisure and Hospitality and Recreation Indices by 1/6 to generate the Best Places to Travel with Rewards Points Index.
